My name is Becky Cash and I am the Republican nominee for District 25 State Representative. I ran for office because, like you, I am concerned about the future of Indiana families and individuals.
As the survey shared, Governor Holcomb has called a special session of the Indiana General Assembly, in order to address the issues of financial insecurities among Hoosiers. I will be compiling your answers and sharing them with the legislators but I also want to let you know where I stand on these issues.
I believe that we need to freeze the Indiana usage tax on gas. This will give the legislature time to look at more permanent solutions to alleviate the pain of the inflation we are experiencing. While I am open to a tax refund, at the current time, this refund will likely not help those in most need. As proposed, it is a rebate for taxpayers because it is a tax refund. In my time talking with Hoosiers in District 25 and across the state, I have heard overwhelmingly that people want longer term solutions. I am committed to helping to find those solutions.
